Provides one-on-one college counseling to high school students and art college applicants, assisting in college planning and academic advising through personalized art school selection, portfolio preparation, and artist statement coaching. Recent clients included 2019 early admission to Cornell, 2019 admissions to SAIC, CCA, SFAI, Tyler, MICA, and Otis, 2018 admitted freshman on a full tuition scholarship, and offers from SVA, Ringling, SCAD, Pratt, and SAIC. Contributes to Blue Stars' team of experts by writing blog posts on art college admissions and consulting on marketing efforts. Managed over 300 applicants throughout 10 states across the country, exceeding goals and increasing enrollment in a critical region. Recruited hundreds of new applicants by coordinating travel to high schools and events nationwide. Built and maintained meaningful relationships through personal correspondence with students, families, high school art teachers, and counselors on behalf of MICA. Reviewed applications, made sensitive admissions decisions, advocated for students, negotiated scholarships, and provided counseling throughout enrollment. Worked collaboratively with admissions team and inter-departmentally within MICA. Evaluated admissions strategies for continued improvement to procedures and processes.
