I Am a Allegheny County, PA based mid-career interdisciplinary consultant and owner of EcoEmpress, Nutrition, Yoga, and Wellness. I hold a B.S. in Nutrition w/ a concentration in Dietetics from Montclair State University, and I Am a credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist & Licensed Dietitian (IN). In addition, I Am a Yoga Alliance 200-hour RYT (registered yoga teacher), and I also have additional training in Yin Yoga (30 hrs) and Yoga Nidra (50 hrs). In 2017, I launched my small business (www.EcoEmpress.co) integrating my passion and professional expertise in nutrition, yoga, and environmental literacy.From 2013 - 2019, I served as Education Coordinator & Organizer in the Greater Newark region for the NJ Environmental Justice Alliance (NJEJA), with the aim of advancing and promoting public policies that result in a cleaner, healthier, safer, and equitable ecological environment (air, water, and land) for New Jersey's EJ communities.I have managed multiple contracts from Nutritional Services Consultancies, based throughout the midwest of the United States. This hybrid work is a combination of on-site visits that include in-services trainings, facility inspections, and resident observations r/t Nutritional Services.My early career was largely focused in government & politics, which includes experience as an in-district Congressional Aide, a NYC-based Political Coordinator for a national labor union, and campaign staff to a New Jersey state political party.Previously, I completed a B.A. in Sociology and African American Studies, and a M.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. I was also a Class of 2010 Fellow at the Rutgers Eagleton Institute of Politics and a Class of 2009 Rutgers Environmental Steward. From 2019-2020, I served as a Director on the board of League of Women Voters NJ, and formerly served as Executive Committee Chair of Environmental Climate Justice with Newark NAACP. In 2016, I completed the Environmental Leadership Program Fellowship and was recognized by New Jersey Work Environment Council with their Rising Star Award.
