BNP Paribas Commercial Finance Ltd is the UK based arm of the Bank providing full Asset Based Facilities to a broad range of businesses. We have a particular appetite for cross border facilities, with locations in 15 European Countries, but are also looking to support UK based businesses. Our London team is based in Cannon Street and my role is to work with professional advisors to identify opportunities where Asset Based Facilities are the solution.

Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance are a major provider of working capital and term lending to mid market businesses in the UK and Europe. I am responsible for working closely with the Bank and external organisations to bring in new business.

Sovereign is involved in all aspects of sales ledger management from full outsource, through debtor verification and collect outs.

GMAC exited this sector in Dec 2009.We focussed on providing Asset Based Lending Facilities to Companies in the £10-150m turnover range. These facilities encompassed a range of assets including debtors, stock, plant and property, as well as cashflow pieces where required. I was responsible for achieving GMAC's new business target as well as training, recruitment and day to day management of a team of seven salesmen. In addition I originated new transactions. Key relationships are held at Partner and Director level with a range of professional firms including Accountants, Private Equity, Law Firms and Valuers. Deal structures are typically negotiated at Board level and could encompass complex deal and security structures.

The Co. was owned by N.M. Rothschild (NMR) and prior to my arrival concentrated on small/medium invoice discounting and factoring deals. I joined the team to help drive the Business into the "Asset Based" sector. The product offering was developed to include stock, plant, property and cashflow and FACF established a reputation for quality, consistency and deliverability.I was involved with shaping credit policy, underwriting and deal process and took up the Regional Director role in 2006. Activities included contact development, deal origination (including Syndications and Participations) and training and managing the new business team.NMR exited the sector in 2008 through a sale to GE. Although offered a position with GE I took an opportunity to re-join GMAC.

Responsible for running the Southern Sales Team as well as sourcing and closing my own deals. I left to take up the opportunity to build an asset based lending platform with Five Arrows.

Headhunted to set up the UK arm for the Banks Export Finance Division. This was a "blank sheet of paper" scenario but unfortunately, shortly after joining, a major fraud was discovered in Canada resulting in the closure of the fledgling UK and US Businesses.

Based in Banbury. The Co had been formed two years previously but had lost its MD and Sales Director to a competitor prior to my arrival. The challenge was to stop the decline in the book as a result of no sales activity and return the Business to profitability. This was achieved by 1997.

Initially based in Richmond responsible for personal new business target. Promoted in 1994 to head up the sales team in the newly formed Central Region.
