A highly experienced national broadcaster, award-winning podcaster and writer, former BBC business correspondent and presenter - now working freelance helping people and organisations to tell their stories. Nigel proudly hosts the long-running, top-ranked monthly CIPD podcast about the workplace which has just been voted "best podcast" in the 2024 Memcom awards - with episodes on topics such as generative AI and the four-day work week cited for being influential, timely and "an inviting listener experience". Latest projects include devising, co-hosting, recording and editing the Taking Care of Business advice podcast for Accord Accountants. Nigel also works as a consultant and writes commissioned articles on management,, health and other topics. He was the lead host on an SME podcast series commissioned by American Express, and personally created a weekly financial markets podcast for markets.com. He was the live breakfast show host at Share Radio, presiding over three hours of live markets coverage and debate. Nigel's broadcast career ranges from a long stint anchoring the business output on the iconic BBC Radio 4 Today Programme to working as a TV correspondent out of Brussels. His skills embrace audio and video editing, event hosting and media training. He has also won numerous specialist radio commissions - notably for The Board Game, a 6.30pm comedy panel quiz on Radio 4. He also co-wrote and produced Robobiz, a comedy exploration of artificial intelligence (with Phil Lowe). Nigel has written three books with Philippa Lamb -- Starting Out, Jumpstart Your Career and Battenberg Britain, a nostalgic and knowing guide to the good, bad and ugly foods of our childhoods.
