I am an experienced educator with a demonstrated history of leading in a range of education settings. I am skilled in culturally responsive teaching and learning, adult learning, curriculum, assessment and learning design, educational leadership, and learning with digital technologies.During my time at the Ministry of Education I led a group of subject experts to design new level one NCEA achievement standards. I also designed a new role to provide subject-specific learning programmes for teachers to support the implementation of the new NCEA assessment system. I then recruited led a team of people for those roles.As a professional learning facilitator with The University of Otago, and Tokona te Raki, I worked with secondary teachers and leaders to improve their practice, leading to better student outcomes. In my current role, I provide strategic policy advice and lead engagement with sensitive stakeholder groups.
