I have been in lighting for nearly fifty years starting in a design lab for a well known ballast manufacturer WJ Parry ( Parmar) before moving into the public sector for 25 years. I have now returned to the manufacturing sector with OrangeTek whose passion is LEDs and delivering leading edge technical solutions to ensure the market can make those important energy and carbon savings. OrangeTek have expanded the product range beyond basic Streetlights and continue to expand in the UK and overseas. We are highly flexible and have a team that designs all our lenses, so if there is a situation where standard off the shelf lenses don't work, then let us know and we can design a bespoke lens just for you.During the public sector work I spent most of my time as the Head of the design team at Birmingham City Council before taking charge at City of Westminster Lighting for around four years.After Westminster, I joined Balfour Beatty in their professional services team leading on public lighting and worked with the successful PFI team on a number of bids including Coventry, Northampton and Cambridge.Following on from my term as ILP president back in 2002 I was the ILP Technical Services Manager for about 4 years and still remain a tutor on the ELD courses.
