With a strong public service ethos and experience in both strategic and operational management. I served the local community as a councillor for over 20 years and was Mayor of Kirklees in 2021/22. As business development manager at The Kirkwood I generated new business supporting their excellent work. I have built relationships with businesses and communities across Kirklees and I have a deep knowledge of the Borough. Financially literate I have a good understanding of corporate governance and am also used to operating within the Standards in Public life.I was raised on a Pennine hill farm and attended local schools. Educated to degree level followed by post graduate research with the Forestry Commission and two Universities. I have retained an interest in farming and countryside matters and I keep a flock of rare breed sheep. Now working for the Forestry Commission as a Business Development Advisor NE&Yorkshire.
