Provision of tutoring and mentoring to 30 final year Chemical Engineering students for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Semester 2 Plant Design Project. Focus on completion of front-end technology identification and concept selection, creation of engineering drawings (BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs), provision of engineering deliverables (calculations, customized sizing spreadsheets, engineering study report), plus safety (HAZOP) and economic and environmental viability assessments.

Completed energy study for oil and gas client, involving preparation and screening of business-unit wide energy opportunity seriatim, followed by high-level scoping and cost benefit analysis for the most promising opportunities.

Responsible for upgrading and implementing the company's electronic Management of Change System covering all changes to surface engineering facilities and associated engineering data.

Corporate principal process engineer, responsible for development and application of company-wide standards, project technical assurance and targetted engineering assistance to strategic projects and operating assets, focussing on process engineering, process safety and information management. Achievements include overhaul of company’s pre-startup safety review standard, gap analysis of EPC contractor process engineering standards, assurance reviews for multiple field development, pipeline, plant and LNG projects, engineering studies into gas plant reliability and availability, pipeline TEG accumulation, LNG plant feed-stock feasibility, conceptual design for unconventional resource plays . Introduction of electronic management of change system across the organisation.

Leadership of a team of seven engineers responsible for opportunity generation through major engineering studies and programs (Energy Efficiency, Plant Rationalisation) initiated or supported from within the team. Included feasibility studies for major projects such as reciprocating compressor installations, oil facility expansions and process safety upgrades within major hazard facilities, followed by liason with engineering contractor responsible for front end and detailed engineering design and construction, culminating in successful commissioning and project close-out

Leadership of a team of ten process engineers responsible for on-going engineering support to the company's major processing plants. Included provision of extensive engineering support during the 2004 Plant Rebuild, succession planning for key site-based engineering positions, introduction of engineering work management system.

Role in a corporate engineering group responsible for assessment of new technology, development and application of company engineering standards, and strategic initiatives. Specific achievements included sizing/costing of PNG to Australia gas pipeline, surface development plan for Bentu gas field, investigation of Solar Reformer technology, SWOT analysis of national gas spec impact, major study into future integration of Moomba and Ballera processing plants, review of potential gas storage schemes.

Role providing facilities engineering expertise as part of a cross functional corporate review and audit group. Responsibilities included review of all proposals for new / upgraded engineering facilities throughout the company. Specific achievements included creation of project audit database, fact finding mission to North America with resultant recommendations on how to improve company compression practices, development of business case for screw compression in Cooper Basin, study into feasibility of Ballera-Moomba sales gas pipeline.

Generation of conceptual designs, Feasibility Studies and Basis of Design documents (BoDs) for new projects. Specific achievements included authoring BoDs for Patchawarra East Compression and Merrimelia #4 Compression. Also provision of engineering services – HAZOP chairing, risk quantification (spill SQRAs produced for major risk trunklines), support to Commercial Dept re Port Bonython natural gas contract re-negotiation.

Engineering support to the Moomba and Port Bonython processing facilities. Specific achievements included bag filter retrofit for Moomba CO2 Plant to eliminate ongoing manual handling issue, introduction of solution activator to increase CO2 Plant capacity, work with Utilities Optimisation Taskforce leading to decommissioning of #1 Switchroom, #1/2 STAs and #1/2 boilers at Moomba, plant trials to establish feasibility of solvents production at Port Bonython, development of BURP model to estimate capacity and utilities demand for the Moomba Gas Plant in different operating scenarios.

Sole site based engineer for the facility. Reporting to Process Supt, responsibilities included product quality, commissioning of new equipment (natural gas skid, propane transfer system, full range naphtha project, EIV Retrofits), operator training, development of computerized production report.

Provision of process engineering expertise to a site-based engineering team. Responsibilities included commissioning of new equipment (CO2 Recovery Skid, oily water system, FGC Booster compressor), troubleshooting and support to operations personnel. Position was site based on a 2 week on 2 week off fly-in roster.

Provision of process engineering support to the Moomba and Port Bonython processing plants to meet gas demand, maximise liquid recovery and ensure safe and optimum plant operation. Specific responsibility for monitoring and optimising Moomba CO2 Plant, including capacity testing.

Process design of new Santos facilities, including #7 CO2 Removal Train (hot potassium carbonate) at Moomba, Daralingie multi-phase gas trunkline, glycol (TEG) dehydration units and flare systems at various gas satellites. Review of contractor designs for Santos Liquids Plant and acceptance testing of Liquids Plant. Performance testing of various gas processing units, including dehydration and CO2 removal units.
