About Nigel Barker

I am a firm believer in helping others to grow, and my favourite proverb talks about feeding people for life by teaching them to fish. I have found that I also grow, as they grow!Throughout a fulfilling career in the NZ Fire Service working in Operations, Fire Safety and Risk Management, I reached the Management rank of Chief Fire Officer. I then embarked on a new career direction into Human Resource Management. With a Masters degree in Advanced Leadership Practices (MALP) and a BBS in HRM and Management, over the last 20+ years I have evolved my experience in Leadership, People Management, Human Resources, Employment Relations, Recruitment and Business Management. Massey University has given me the opportunity to search worldwide for people who also want to grow, while they develop others by 'teaching them to fish!'
