Embedding and execution of data management activities within the Cards platform.

As part of the Smart Interactions Lab within Consumer Servicing Nigel has been working across a number of feature teams providing architecture thought leadership and solution design activity. Nigel is a Chapter Lead for the software engineers within the Lab and undertakes line management. As Chapter Lead Nigel has looked after a group of experienced Software Engineers across the Lab that work on a number of different feature teams including Workforce Planning, Secure Messaging and Fraud and Disputes. He has provided line management, career guidance and direction, including definition of balanced scorecards and measures, capture of feedback, progress against personal development plans and staff reviews. Nigel is engaged on a key learning pathway in support of the Cloud Centre of Excellence, on-boarding skills in Google Cloud Platform and other and other associated technologies. Through this work Nigel has been certified in GCP and Azure. Nigel has led the engineering delivery for the migration of the on premise workforce management system to a new AWS SaaS cloud solution. He has owned and delivered the solution architecture artefacts needed for design governance and also designed and build for the interfaces to and from the cloud utilising MS SQL, PowerShell, WebDAV, Athena and Tivoli Workload Scheduler. Nigel has supported a number of Connect Optimisation projects looking to improve the DSAR processes and has defined solution options for offshoring of additional Telephony and Back-office staff in support of customer servicing. Nigel has been a key member of the Workforce Planning team overseeing the on-boarding of the Connectfore forecasting application and backend machine intelligence and data engineering activities. He has been the point of contact for the deployment on IBM cloud technology, as a pathfinder project for the application that includes React, JavaScript, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and Python.

Accountable for the design and delivery of the core platform target state architecture, in support of the business strategy by:• ensuring that the application/systems, data and technology aspects of the enterprise architecture are driven by the business imperatives of the organisation and that the requirements driving the overall architecture are managed consistently and effectively.• Input to the high level strategic assessment of business needs, to ensure the alignment of build solutions to enable the business to achieve against the program deliverables• Ownership of the enterprise architecture development lifecycle for a major client.• Understanding and presenting the immediate/tactical and strategic benefits of adopting a consistent architectural approach within the context of the business strategy to help justify investment.• Assessing the requirements and presenting architectural recommendations that are in line with the strategic vision for the enterprise and wider best practice.• Providing leadership to the wider architecture and technical community and maintain constructive relationships with suppliers to allow effective and productive evaluation of vendor offerings against business requirements, constraints and priorities.• Ensuring that the various views comprising an enterprise architecture are consistent and coherent, at an appropriate level of detail and that changes are controlled so as to maintain consistency.• Advise on and participate in the governance arrangements set up to ensure that the enterprise architecture delivers the desired benefits to an organisation.• Serve as a subject matter expert for architectural frameworks, methods and tools.• Document ‘as is’ and target architectural states• Develop strategic roadmaps and initiatives to deliver target state

Solution Development Manager role covering Pre Sales Consultancy, Client Management and Project Delivery. Providing Strategic Consultancy specialising in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Information Management, Business Intelligence and end to end project delivery.Providing development and implementation of pragmatic value driven strategies for solutions and services, supporting Acuma's extensive blue-chip public and private sector clients with use of leading IT technology partners.

Within the Strategy and Architecture team undertaken the role of Business Intelligence Enterprise Architect reporting to the Chief Architect. Responsible for documenting and owning the Vision and Strategy to support BI, also completing the Architecture Vision statement for Business Rules Management, looking to bring in a new capability to make better informed decisions for debt collections and enterprise decision support.Responsible and taken ownership for completing the strategic business intelligence conceptual architecture design, detailing the high level architecture required to meet the UU BI programme initial project and subsequent delivery phases. Target technologies include SAP BW, SAP Business Objects, SQL Server DB & BI, Integration Service (SSIS), Analytical Services (SSAS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and SharePoint. Have been responsible for documenting the Data and BI architecture building blocks required for the future concept of operations programme. This is a multi-million pound programme looking to transform the way the business operates. Artifacts for information architecture have been specified and are a key enabler to support data governance, data taxonomy, enterprise data model and process and data mapping. For the price review for 2014 work has been completed on the Strategic Positioning papers to support Data and BI architectures including data governance, integration and business intelligence.
