Software Triage EngineerResponsible for investigating software problems reported on Set Top Boxes (STB) running TiVo Middleware.Investigates at source code and system level to narrow down exactly which software component (Low Level Drivers, Middleware, User Interface, Head End, Stream Play-out, etc) and assigns the fault to the relevant party.Participates/Cooperates with third party software suppliers to assist in delivering a solution.

Short Term Contract. Software Integration on 'Ziggo' CPE platform. Part of a team of software engineers responsible for monitoring the 'Continuous Integration' process. Testing of overnight automatic full-stack software builds and reporting any faults found on a Jira fault tracking system. Responsible for maintenance of individual release branches generated at the end of two week sprints including creation of official software release builds (Jenkins system) for QA and customer testing.

• Worked as a software integrator, combining a variety of STB middleware components ensuring that the resultant middleware operated seamlessly with lower level driver software and higher-level User Interface software.• Designed/Developed software features in a variety of middleware sub-components.• Documented sub-component design to ensure its easy understanding by other software developers thus improving the system wide middleware integration process.• Documented specialized and complex design implementation with the aim of preserving knowledge and design decisions for the future.• Considered invaluable by project managers when customer reported problems arise resulting in the need for an urgent on-site customer premises visit to international destinations often at short notice.• Developed a Hybrid IP end-to-end test system allowing content delivery from CDN server to STB to be tested including bandwidth limitation, packet loss and traffic prioritization.• Awarded a Chief Executive Officer award for emergency visit to Sky Brasil immediately prior to new year holiday period.

• Worked with third party STB manufacturers to assist with development of hardware device drivers suitable for operation with Cisco/NDS device driver API specification.• Developed test tools/software to allow easy test of STB manufacturers device drivers prior to driver integration with Cisco/NDS full-stack consumer STB User Interface and middleware.• Designed and documented Cisco/NDS device driver API enhancements to implement features requested by Satellite/Cable TV broadcasters including Sky.
