𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭:Investigating Battery Degradation Patterns and Predictive Models for Sustainable Energy Systems

Parameterisation and Prediction of Absorption Spectra for Accelerated Photovoltaic Material Discovery

• Led the development of a predictive multi-label classification model to identify analytes of interest from raw mass spectra data using multivariate logistic regression on an in-house collected database to reduce turnaround time (TAT) of reports. • Supported day-to-day operations in the chromatography sub-lab, effectively utilising gas chromatography mass spectroscopy (GCMS), liquid chromatography time of flight (LC/TOF) and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) equipment to establish swift TAT of reports.• Validated interlaboratory accuracy by conducting round robin tests and quantitative analysis of LCMS results between separate chromatography labs, leading to the identification of process improvements and enhanced training protocols.

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭:Characterisation of Powders and Fluids for Production of Personalised FMCG Products (Advised by Dr. Ng Ting Ting and Dr. Lee Mun Wai)• Collected data of liquid samples using a rheometer, employing Cone & Plate and Column techniques and performing amplitude and frequency sweeps to accurately characterise rheological and viscoelastic properties.• Analysed consolidated data to differentiate nature of different fluids using flow behaviour index, flow consistency index and flow characteristic chart to enhance understanding of production and application capabilities for specific Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).• Developed an in-house standard operating procedure for the Anton Paar Physica Maxima MCR 101 Rheometer to streamline future students’ familarisation with the equipment and processes.

• Conducted regular calibration and validation of glassware and instruments including FTIR, UV-Vis, ICP-OES, auto titrators, density meters and pH meters to maintain result accuracy.• Prepared and standardised solvents, reagents and standards through both manual and auto titration following standards such as ASTM E200, Celanese and JIS K to ensure consistency.• Enhanced daily efficiency by developing an in-house standard operation procedure for Karl Fischer titration, facilitating a more effective learning experience for future equipment users.
