I was promoted in to the IT Support Manager role 2 years after joining Foodstuffs, joining the Senior Executive team. Here I lead a team of IT managers and support staff (including Service Desk, Application Support, User Administration and BAU Engineers), where I have the responsibility of leading one of the 4 departments within IT.I've continued seeking Leadership development opportunities and have achieved Foundation Certification in ITIL4. My team also owns our ITSM platform (Ivanti) and together we have developed numerous improvements including a Self Service Portal, Major Incident Reporting, P1 Incident Communication and devloping a roadmap towards Cloud adoption, CI / CMDB discovery and Service Mapping and automating Service Management processes.We introduced a Transition process to smooth pathways from Business Systems development to BAU Support. My team and I also manage the development of reporting to provide analysis and insights of incidents and service requests to all of Foodstuffs various business areas.

This role as Application Support Manager at Foodstuffs South Island was a great opportunity to move in to a new industry (FMCG) and to a company of large scale. I led a team of App Support Analysts and also managed various projects under the Business Systems department. Of note, I led the cutter over a weekend as we migrated our SAP ERP from S3 to S4 Hana. It was a complicated yet successsful implementation and a proud achievement for everyone involved. I gained a lot of knowledge of an array of systems required to keep one of the largest retailers in the South Island operating smoothly including SAP ERP, Supply Chain (WMS), Point of Sale, EFTPOS, Employee Management, Time Clocks, CRM, Mobile Devices, SAP PI and SAP BI etc.I was also very involved in Incident Management and developed knowledge of IT Service Management practices and the ITIL framework. Through the Foodstuffs Management Development program, I completed numerous courses to further my managerial and leadership abilities.

During this time, I continued to wear lots of hats (typical in a small company you could say), but also took on the Development Manager role, leading a team of software developers residing in NZ, Australia and sometimes abroad. Our customer base continued to grow, we migrated much of our code base to VB.net, and upgraded our back end to SQL Server, greatly improving the systems speed, reliability and scalability.

After a move to Melbourne I helped to set up and manage the Australian office of HealthSoft Australia and expand our customer base in the Australian region. One of my first tasks was to work in one of the largest Compounding pharmacies in Australia to add Compounding software to the existing dispensing and point of sale offerings. This created the only fully integrated Compounding / POS / PBS Dispensing software in Australasia.I continued installing, configuring and administering servers, software and desktops and travelled extensively around Australia setting up new customer sites. I added Sales to my skill set, even cold calling pharmacies during my travels both in metro areas and out across country towns. Being on site post installation I was also able to quickly identify opportunities to improve the software as well as the data conversion processes from the customers old system to the upgraded system.I had regular interactions with the Australian Department of Health to update our dispense software offerings to comply with new rules and regulations.

After completing a year long IT Business software programming course, this was my first role in the IT Industry, which I'd held a long interest in, tinkering with IT hardware and software at home. I started off as a Technical Suport and Service Desk Analyst, learning the intricacies of the Retail Pharmacy sector. HealthSoft provided hardware and software services the pharmacies throughout New Zealand. After a year or so I was given the opportunity to apply for a Programmer role which I was successful in getting. I never thought I'd end up programming software but it was a new skill I rewally enjoyed, and was particularly interested in creating customer focused and end user friendly software and screens for the creation of great end user experiences.During this time I also travelled extensively throughout NZ (and occasionally the Pacific Islands which was an amazing learning experienc), installing and updating software and hardware, as well as providing training to Pharmacists and other pharmacy staff.

This was my first role after returning to Auckland from overseas. It was an anjoyable role in a large organsation in their accounts team.

In this role I became an integral part of the accounts team, reporting the the Financial Controller. Lots of reconciliations and invoicing required. Notable achievement was a large reconciliation of the European Pfizer account which paved the way for payment of some long outstanding invoices.

One of my first roles in London whilst on my OE, I was brought in to help with accounts receivable admin in for this specialist SAP consultancy. Attention to detail required (especially on the invoicing and reconciliation side) and I enjoyed some exposure to SAP and UK / Europe wide Consultants.

This was party of a university graduate intake, and involved gaining ground up experiencing in the warehousing and distribution industry. Mainly I was involved in the warehousing and distribution of tyres being produced at the Papanui Firestone factory. Worked as part of a diverse and fun team and even learnt to drive fork lifts.
