Manager - Brake

• Having overall 12 years of experience in chassis brake system design & development for commercial vehicle. • Competency in brake system sizing, modular platform concept, hydraulic piping layout and packaging, new product development, ABS implementation, design validation plan, supplier co-ordination, project deliverables. • Experience in hydraulic / pneumatic pipe & hose routing design in pro-piping • Experience in VA/VE (Value Analysis, Value Engineering) activities for new & current Product. • Having good working experience in new product development while executing projects. • Good knowledge of design reviews, vehicle layout & DMU packaging. • Having good working experience pre-homologation & CMVR certification. • Good knowledge of product development life cycle. • Experience in bench marking and tear down analysis. • Knowledge of DFA, DFM, DFS, DFMEA. • Experience in timely resolution of issues in brake system. • Good communication skills and profound ability to work in a team environment. • Software tools used during job experience - Creo 6.0,Team Centre, JT/ Vis-Mockup Wind-Chill, Enovia, SAP. • Software tools known: - Pro-E, UG-NX, CATIA, Solid Works.

• Formulation of brake system strategy for projects, system sizing & performance targets for 3W & 4W. • Brake system aggregate packaging, maintain modularity across the platform, achieve weight & cost targets, review layout, installations. Resolve DFA, DFM, DFS issues. • Coordination with internal & external customers, suppliers throughout the cycle of product development. • Coordination with different CFT members to monitoring vehicle level issues. • Benchmarking of competitor vehicle. • Provide support & guidance to service team for quick response & timely resolution of field issues in brake system. • Preparation of design guidelines for brake system aggregate packaging. • Preparation of standard procedures, check sheets for proper analysis of validation & field issues. • Identify & lead improvement projects in existing Brake system. • VA/VE on existing products. • Proto vehicle development and resolving fitment issues. • Co-ordination with different CFT members for ensuring Timely Design Releases.

• Brake system sizing and performance calculation for M1, M2 & N1 category vehicle to meet regulatory norms. • Presenting & communicating all vehicle level and system level requirements to supplier & VI team. • Brake system layout finalization, Component packaging, feasibility & articulation study at aggregate and vehicle level to meet functional requirements with the support of supplier and vehicle integration team. • Co-ordination with supplier for new product development and up-gradation in current product. • Responsible for conducting design DFA / DFM / DFS / DFMEA. • Interacting with other agencies like Protoshop, IDT, ODT & vehicle assembly while product development. • Support for aggregate and component level DVP requirements. • Support for conformance to homologation & regulations requirements. • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of prototype, field issues & customer complaints. • Generating cost reduction ideas and VAVE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) projects. • Identify scopes for technology enhancement with supplier. • Bench marking of competitor vehicle. • Resolve current production issues & IPTV reduction. • Design release management in PLM system.

• Vehicle layout packaging finalization to meet assembly, serviceability requirement. • Discussion & co-ordination with CFT members for DMU packaging finalization. • DMU review for clearance analysis & accessibility. • Identifying the issues in design & packaging and resolving by creating new design ideas & getting aggregates agreement for the best possible vehicle quality. • Chassis installation drawing preparation for complete vehicle. • Preparation of Vehicle BOM matrix and design release management in PLM/PDM. • Co-ordination with proto planning team & supplier for proto build. • Co-ordination with manufacturing team for DFA/DFS clearances. • Preparation of brake system layout proposal & packaging finalization for LCV vehicle. • Preparation of brake system installation drawing.
