About Nihat Cem Inan

Engineering Summary: I just finished a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a second major in Music at University of Portland. My goal is to apply the knowledge I have obtained from my education and experience in a full time position in order to gain industrial experience and contribute to the world. In terms of my previous industrial experience, I completed an internship last summer at Micro Systems Engineering, Inc., a subsidiary company of Biotronik. In addition to the knowledge I gained, the internship nurtured my self-learning skills by requiring me to learn tools on my own including programming languages, PCB design software, and measurement instruments primarily. Some aspects of my internship were not specifically related to my educational training, such as mechanical tasks. As a result, I had to self-learn procedures including how to construct a shelf to store a sophisticated test instrument. As aforementioned, my previous internship experience demonstrates my ability to quickly learn new skills on my own. I also possess strong analytical skills and I am passionate, dedicated, and focused while working on an assigned task. Eventually, I would like to go to graduate school. I would like to earn a Master's Degree and possibly a Doctoral Degree as well. Music Summary:I have played piano, saxophone, and other musical instruments for a long time. I finished my music major at the University of Portland. Both as a high school student and a music major student in college, I won numerous awards such as winning 1st place twice in the state saxophone solo contest (Spring 2010 and Spring 2012). I was featured as a solo pianist with many orchestras and played piano in Carnegie Hall (December 2014). I also continue to work as a music instructor, which I started in Fall 2010. While I was at UP (and in high school), I participated in many musical ensembles. In Fall 2014, I was also an actor and musician for the play, "The 1940's Radio Hour."
