• Built and tested a circuit to read electrical signals from the flexor pollicis muscle group using surface electromyography (sEMG) and actuate a shape memory alloy (SMA) based on the sEMG signals.
• Constructed photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor using differentiator circuit, infrared LED, and phototransistor, which detected changes in blood flow and displayed heart rate on an oscilloscope.

• Took on project from the Western University Off-Road Racing (Baja) Team to design, build, test, and implement a smart vehicle transmission to improve vehicle performance.
• Designed and manufactured an E-CVT that automatically optimizes gear ratio based on engine RPM and vehicle speed, is compatible with current vehicle design, and conforms to all competition regulations.
• Built motor control system and power distribution circuit in Simulink to optimize and simulate performance of the systems.
• Studied E-CVT dynamics to synthesize control law which determined the ideal gear ratio at any given point.
• Simulated E-CVT behaviour and verified with team captain customer requirements were met.
• Analyzed simulations to check for errors, reviewed results to determine if they were realistic, and simulated E-CVT behaviour at extreme conditions.

• Designed a 3 Degree of Freedom Robot which moved objects around, defined workspace for it to operate in, and defined obstacles within workspace.
• Wrote MATLAB scripts to calculate forward kinematics and differential kinematics using configuration vector, and inverse kinematics using position vector.
• Implemented gradient descent algorithm to determine optimal path from start to end points, modelled as attractive fields, while avoiding all obstacles, modelled as repulsive fields.
• Created SolidWorks model to extract physical properties of robot; used physical properties to write MATLAB script for Euler-Lagrange dynamic motion equation calculation.
• Designed inverse dynamic controller and created simulation to validate results and provide insight on robot function.
