The purpose of this position is to share the restored gospel of Jesus Christ around the world through music messaging. This is accomplished by working with the Auxiliary Presidencies, General Authorities, and international Church area leaders to create music that addresses current messaging needs. The International Music Messaging Strategist acts as a mentor to musicians to help increase self-reliance in the arts in all areas of the world. ResponsibilitiesWork closely with auxiliary presidencies and other general leaders in creating music messaging that supports the annual Mutual theme. Scout youth talent and mentor them through the process of creating the annual Mutual albums. Oversee the production, recording, translation, and awareness of the Mutual albums. Showcase music in front of large audiences of general Church leaders. Assist leaders in international Church areas by providing support in all their contemporary music endeavors. Mentor local leaders and musicians through songwriting, recording, and performance workshops. Assist areas in the creation of locally-made albums by helping the areas locate songwriters, producers, and recording studios, and encouraging local collaboration. Make newly-produced international music available on official Church channels. Coordinate and collaborate with other Church departments to integrate Priesthood and Family department music into other Church projects. Help increase the amount of music made available by the Church across departments. Organize and execute musical numbers for international Church events such as Face to Face. Work with General Authority guests in the selection of musical numbers. Oversee the arrangement of hymns, talent selection, rehearsals, and performances of musical numbers.
