Hi! I'm Nikhil and I'm an experienced Software Engineer. Here’s a gist of my professional journey so far:During my undergrad, I worked hard in my summer break learning CS fundamentals and was able to crack a Software Developer role at one of the top companies that visited our campus - Quantiphi. I spent the next 1.5 years working as a Full Stack Developer. During my training period, I finished with one of the highest scores amongst my batch. I soon after was added to a client project commissioned by Ernst & Young where I developed the backend using Python and FirestoreDB. I worked on some critical internal tools like Quggle which was an internal search engine for our company. I used ElasticSearch and Node.JS to power the backend for this project. I was also involved in revamping the legal process at Quantiphi. We built an internal portal from scratch that helps the legal team view, iterate and approve legal documents in one unified portal. This required me to create wireframes, build the UI using Angular 8 and power the backend using Python, FirestoreDB and Google Drive APIs. My final project was with HSBC as our client where I built the frontend for a Smart Document Project.I then joined a fin-tech startup called Epifi as one of the founding members of the Web Team. As we were close to launching our app, I had to quickly learn the frontend tech stack consisting of React, Redux & Redux Saga building from my earlier experience with AngularJS. I enjoyed my time here from being an individual contributor and later on transitioning to a leadership role of managing 5+ developers. Some of my notable contributions were - improving the reliability of our website using Prometheus, Grafana, Pyroscope • Building backend-driven financial calculators, Webflow based blog platform with reverse proxy set-up • Secure sign-in flow with 2-factor authentication, IP whitelisting and role-based access control for different personas.When I'm not on VsCode or have 100 Chrome tabs open, I enjoy playing Football & Table Tennis, catching up on the latest tech gadgets, or simply binge-watching my favourite shows.I'm currently pursuing my Masters in Software Engineering at Ontario Tech University. I have a CGPA of 4.15/4.3 and will be graduating in August 2024.
