Public speaking presenter focusing on empowering you to control what you can control to find the positives in all aspects of life.After a traumatic knee dislocation in 2016, in pursuit of my dream to play for the Australian Women’s rugby union team, the Wallaroo’s. I underwent 16 surgeries in 9months to save my leg from being amputated and repair the damage. My injuries included a severed artery and nerve in my right leg, compartment syndrome and three torn knee ligaments. Imagine dislocating your knee, losing blood flow down to your foot and feeling like your lower leg was on fire and about to explode all at the same time knowing your leg was going to be amputated.After my injury I used the skills learnt from my experience as a Nurse and an athlete of resilience, determination and grit to discover the world of para sport and becoming an elite athlete. I became a member of the Australian rowing team in 2018 which started my story of elite performance that lead me to become a Paralympian.I have been able to embrace and reflect upon my experience and highlight the key foundations that enabled me to thrive after my trauma. These include but are not limited to resilience, grit, perspective and how to focus on turning failure into success. I share these learnings in my public speaking as I aim to motivate and empower you to find the silver linings in all aspects of your life.
