Part-time, initially temporary role, I was brought in to assist with the transition of accounting systems from Sage Line 50 to Xero before being offered a permanent position. Reporting to the Finance Director, my duties include:• Ensuring all purchase invoices are input correctly and approved before arranging payment within terms. • Reconciling statements and dealing with supplier queries• Credit control• Purchase order creation and reconciliation• Bank and credit card reconciliation, expense claims and reimbursement• Month end and intercompany journals, accruals and prepayments, maintaining the fixed asset registerand depreciation• Payroll, P11d’s and year end, preparing VAT returns• Monthly management accounts with variance analysis, consistently delivered before the monthly deadline. • Audit preparation and liaising with the external audit team

I was temporarily brought back into the family business after several years away to overhaul the finance role. • First task was to change the accounting package and ensure the invoicing and accounting packages were integrated to reduce time previously taken copying data • Producing monthly management accounts and reporting• Monitoring cashflow and loan accounts• Management and training of finance assistant• Payroll, pensions and VAT returns• Preparing payment runs and supplier payments• Preparing year end and liaising with external accountants• Negotiating utilities contracts

Temporary role to cover a period of leave. I took on this role with no handover and no one in the company familiar with the accounts function. After getting the purchase ledger up to date and suppliers paid, I started working on the aged debtors and managed to recoup many aged debts.My duties included:• Purchase ledger – checking invoices against purchase orders, seeking approval and entering on Sage.• Reconciling statements and arranging payment• Sales ledger - raising invoices, allocating payments and chasing aged debts• Bank reconciliation, assisting with VAT return, month end prepayment and accrual journals
