I lead The Wall Street Journal's Life & Work coverage team, a new, growing desk at the Journal unhealthily obsessed with the way people spend their time and money, from health to travel to tech, personal finance and careers. Previously, I was the Journal's deputy business editor, driving coverage of business in the pandemic, with a focus on the transformative changes in the workplace. Before that, I founded our live journalism editorial group, steering content for global events and special reports teams, working with journalists, producers, designers and commercial partners around the world to grow WSJ events and break news on stage. I have a passion for telling stories about the way business really gets done. As bureau chief for Management & Careers coverage I launched and led our Women in the Workplace report, a comprehensive survey of gender and work, started our newsletter on gender and hosted the Journal's series of events about women and work and created a series about the rise of contract work. As deputy business editor, I launched a reporting team examining race in the workplace. Startups are my specialty. I've launched digital coverage for the Journal's Greater New York section, founded the all-things-South-Florida website Miami.com and worked on the launch of Chicago city guides for Tribune Company and Microsoft back when the internet was awesome.
