Part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of new multimillion (£150m) fully automated paint manufacturing facility. Worked alongside mechanical, electrical, civil and chemical engineers to ensure readiness of the plant.• Managed a team of 10 operators that tested 500+ pumps on site before the systems came online and captured performance data (pump curves, vibration, thermography analysis).• Managed a team of 6 process operators who were allocated to the site’s By-Products systems which included pigging systems, collection and treatment of water and solvent waste streams. This included snag resolution, commissioning, start-up and optimisation of said systems.• Was responsible for all relevant administrative needs of my direct reports, including monthly reviews and recruiting new team members. Most of these members stayed long term with the organisation and a few even progressed to higher positions within the plant.• Organised and led the Hazard Studies 4 and 5, as well as any re-HAZOPs, for all areas of the site, ensuring the timely progression of the commissioning activities.

4th Placement of the company's Supply Chain Graduate program:Production planner for the Slough Manufacturing Unit’s waterbourne paints production. Became advanced in using SAP and worked closely with material planning and the site’s production team. Created multiple macro applications to speed up daily tasks for the whole team, saving approximately 6 to 7 whole work-hours per day. Introduced and trained others on SAP automation scripts to enable large database changes, something that previously had to be dealt with on a corporate level.

3rd Placement of the company's Supply Chain Graduate program:Led a project to install several offloading pumps for explosive materials from road tankers to bulk tanks. Defined the scope and completed the detailed design. Performed Hazard Studies 1, 2 and 3 (HAZOP), obtained quotes for the equipment and work and handed the project over to the site team. Also implemented a Material Management improvement project on the site’s liquids’ warehouse and created a macro tool to allow regular optimisation based on actual usage. This reduced the daily handling of materials by 23%.

2nd Placement of the company's Supply Chain Graduate program:Managed a team of 12 M&E and E&I technicians while performing the Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for 96 pump skids on the contractor’s fabrication unit. Co-ordinated activities between the contractor, the FAT team and the Ashington construction site. Liaised with multiple vendors to problem-solve and correctly set up and test equipment. Generated extensive reports and datasheets with equipment’s details, snags and performance records. All the pump skids were delivered to site on time, without delaying the installation timeline.

1st Placement of the company's Supply Chain Graduate program:Worked alongside the Production Manager assisting in meeting the manufacturing and filling goals. Solely responsible for a small individual production unit utilising a team of 6 process operators; achieved to reduce downtime by 12%. Led several engineering improvement projects site-wide which resulted in increasing production volumes. Was also heavily involved in Quality Control due to a lack of a site Quality Manager; mainly the prevention of bacterial contamination.

Pre-Placement of the company's Supply Chain Graduate program:Part of the company’s small site team during the construction phase of a new multimillion fully automated manufacturing facility. Supervised construction progress and advised process-wise when required. Established basic processes for future commissioning, developed relevant procedures, created commissioning checklists for various equipment and handled the initial Document Control process before an official department was created.

Assigned to GETRAG Ford Transmissions full time from Cranfield University to conduct the Thesis project which was named “Root Cause Analysis of the Current GETRAG Product Development Practices – Transformation to LeanPD”. Placement demanded extensive research and good understanding of mechanics, excellent interpersonal skills (often conducting face-to-face interviews as well as organising and facilitating workshops) and solid project management to deliver complete results on time. As a result of the project, the company introduced its new Lean Product Development strategy successfully two months ahead of schedule.

Conducted the Group Project of Cranfield University studies programm in association with the Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine company. The project was named “Developing a Parametric Estimating Model in a Design to Cost Trade-Off Process for Radar Systems”. The team consisted of 8 students and the project’s scope was to create a parametric tool that would enable the company to perform design to cost trade-offs. This involved good understanding of complex technologies (radar systems) and implementing cost engineering principles. Personal responsibilities as a team leader included managing the relationships between the members of the team and the academic and industrial supervisors and lead the team forward in order to achieve the tight deadlines. The project was completed successfully with special mentions about my contribution from the company's representatives.

Internship as part of the university’s study program. The assignment was to conduct a SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) analysis on the changeovers of the filling lines. Main responsibilities included measuring productivity, analysing the results and suggesting ways to increase it. Took individual responsibility for all tasks and reported back to the Production Manager. Successfully completed the project, in accordance with tight deadlines, any my recommendations resulted in a 12% reduction of the changeover times.

Examination and certification of oil and gas fuels distributed by gas stations all over Greece. This project required independent travelling to collect the samples from various locations, with quality assurance being the key focus. Furthermore strong team work was needed in order for the lab procedures to be efficient and accurate.
