My work in law enforcement spans more than two decades with the Newark Police Department where I served as a police captain and as the Deputy Police Director. My skills in this sector range from management and traning to specializations in emergency management. Additionally, I am an experienced Pastor with a demonstrated history of working in the religious institution's industry. My time serving as the head pastor at Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church since 1996 has helped me gain invaluable experience managing both nonprofit and faith-based organizations. I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy and once I retired from the Newark Police Department, I set my sights on furthering my education. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Kean University in May 2020. I am now currently pursuing my Master's in Public Administration at Farleigh Dickinson and my Doctorate in Religious Education from the Divinity Bible Institute. My passion for law enforcement and policy led me to the Center for Policing Equity (CPE), where I serve as an Implementation Specialist Manager. CPE is a nonprofit organization that works to identify and eliminate disparities in policing and reduce harmful interactions between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve. This is done through a scientific analysis ofuse of force, pedestrian stops, and vehicle stops.
