During the pandemic I got super crafty (literally) and learned as much as I could about jewelry making. My methods of choice were acid etching designs onto copper (earrings and bangles) and 3D printed jewelry via lost wax casting techniques. I collaborated with another maker and we sold our pieces at craft shows.
Led a project analyzing soil moisture satellite data. Sourced remote sensing data in NetCDF format from multiple agencies (e.g. NASA, ESA). Extracted soil moisture variables for locations and time windows of interest as tabular time-series and performed statistical analyses. Wrote scripts in Python using packages including numpy and pandas.
Developed an ArcGIS toolbox in Python for filtering and visualizing stream vector data from the National Hydrography Dataset. Collaborated with USGS scientists to understand their research and data needs. The toolbox, which was built using the ArcPy library, automated geoprocessing tasks such as filtering features and exporting results.
