About Nina Klein

I am a consultant on systemic innovation & sustainability. My work focusses on advocacy/ public affairs, communication incl. events, financing/ funding, strategy, organizational change, project development - all with a focus on the EU. One of my biggest clients is ECOLISE, the European network for community-led initiatives on climate change and sustainability - where I act as policy lead, with a focus on EU policies (European Green Deal). As a trained journalist, historian (MA), and business manager (MBA) I have more than two decades of experience within the creative sectors (museums, print, radio, book publishing, trade fairs). In 2012 I started to realize the urgency and magnitude of the planetary crisis. Since then I set up a small eco project - Jardin Prangeleu (www.prangeleu.be) - combining permaculture and yoga. My main question is how to bring about transformational change in society - and, yes, listening to science helps. I hold certificates in "Ecosystem services/ Green Economy" (Bournemouth University/ UK) as well as in "Sustainability & behavior change" (Center for Alternative Technology/ CAT Wales/ UK). My aim as a EU Climate Pact Ambassador is to connect grassroots levels' to the Green Deal and - more specifically - to bring the EU Nature Restoration Law to local levels (http://conseil-nature.be - in French).

  • Yoga For Health / Belgium: Www.Yogaforhealth.Be
    Co-Founder
Yoga For Health / Belgium: Www.Yogaforhealth.Be Jun 2019 - Present
Durbuy, Walloon Region, Belgium; Brussels, Belgium
Yoga for Health is a non-profit association which aims to promote the beneficial effects of yoga on health and wellbeing. A regular practice of yoga, which is completely adapted to the person, can have quite substantial effects and ameliorate the quality of life on all levels - physical, physiological and mental. This is especially the case with chronic diseases, but also with physical ailments such as back pain. A a widening body of scientific research testifies to the fact that yoga can be a useful complementary approach to modern medicine in many cases. Yoga for Health was set up by me and my colleague Paulette Matkovic in order to make the approach of yoga for health more widely known amongst the general public, and to network with the medical world and other institutions interested in cooperation. We are both trained yoga teachers (certified according the the regulations of the European Union for Yoga, EYU), and certified in yoga therapy (school of Dr. Natesan Chandrasekaran, Chennai, India). Jardin Prangeleu - Eco Project Combining Yoga & Permaculture
    Jardin Prangeleu (Www.Prangeleu.Be) Jun 2019 - Present
    Belgium
Jardin Prangeleu is a place for culture and permaculture, for yoga, yoga therapy, relaxation and recreation, in a green and restful environment in the south of Belgium. Around 3 ha of the project are dedicated to nature (passive management with the help of a family of beavers), aiming to enhance biodiversity. The project was born because we - my partner and I - had the strong impression that we need to DO something about the climate and biodiversity crises, and not only listen to the news and get depressed. In a way, the Jardin Prangeleu is the seed for a quite transformational change of our lives... and yes, it is fun!
