Research Fellowship: 'Diversity, Inequality and Preferences for Redistribution' led by Dr Konstantinos Matakos and Professor Shaun Hargreaves HeapExpected Outcome: At least two academic articles which will be submitted in leading economic journals as well as to top political science and economics professional associations’ conferences. The project aims to identify the causes behind the anti-refugee sentiment found in Western democracies. By conducting a survey-based experiment economic incentives and cultural assimilation strategies can be tested and the findings will provide guidance for policy responses to the refugee crisis. I further have the opportunity to work with Professor Hargreaves Heap on re-running my bachelor thesis as a large-scale experiment which will potentially lead to an academic paper. Key tasks include designing two survey-based experiments, conducting a literature review and writing proposals for TESS experiments.

Research project on how the politicisation of Europe has affected the legislative process in the European Union. The project is led by Dr Christel Koop (Department of Political Economy, KCL), Dr Edoardo Bressanelli (Department of European and International Studies, KCL), and Dr Christine Reh (Department of Political Science, UCL). Key tasks include the compiling and analysis of data on the legislative processes within the European Union as well as compiling an index of media salience of legislation in different European countries.

KCL Perspectives is a student-led publication focused on current issues in economics and finance. As an editor I am working on compiling the issue, planning articles and researching themes as well as contacting potential contributors and editing articles. http://kcleconomics.com/

Enactus is a worldwide non-profit organisation that brings together student, business and academic leaders to found projects and businesses that improve the livelihoods of people in need by using entrepreneurial action.In Enactus KCL I was project leader for SleepCoat, a social enterprise that employs homeless people to produce an emergency coat for rough sleepers. I founded this social enterprise in September 2014 and until December 2015 I was leading a team of 10 people. During my time with SleepCoat we have worked with advisers from various companies like Amazon, McKinsey, Google for Entrepreneurs and Clifford Chance. We have been featured in the Huffington post twice and received a grant from UnLtd. As a project leader I secured a partnership with ThamesReach.In 2015 I was part of the presentation team of Enactus KCL and presented SleepCoat at the Nationals Competition. This annual competition is a chance for all Enactus UK teams to present their work and to compete to become the best Enactus team in the UK. This presentation involved a four months process of preparation, practising and presenting at various events.From June 2015 to December 2015 I acted as Vice President of Enactus KCL. As vice president of Enactus KCL it was my responsibility to act in place of the president in periods of absence or illness. I was also closely involved in major decision making processes of the society and advised the president when required.From January 2016 to April 2016 I was the Presentation Coordinator of the 2016 KCL Nationals Presentation Team and responsible to organise and conduct the training and preparation.

Vinelake provides enhanced learning and networking events for industry specialists to discover how the latest technology innovations, primarily in IoT, are changing their sector and their jobs.As a Data Build and Research Executive I was responsible for researching industry contacts, qualifying existing data and compiling the database for each event.

The Young Consultant is a student-led non-profit strategy consulting firm which provides strategic advice to small businesses and charities. The Young Consultant works with AT Kearney who advice us on our projects and provide regular consultancy training.As a consultant I worked on a project with a national health care charity and was responsible for the analysis of the organisations operations.

The MicroLoan Foundation is a charity that provides microloans to women in Malawi and Zambia. As a prospect researcher I supported the Trust & Foundation team by researching possible prospects and researching, compiling and sending applications to trusts and foundations. Furthermore, I updated the database on eTapestry by researching and creating new organisational formats and reports. I also supported the U.S. Microloan Foundation team with research and recommendations on trust and foundations.
