Basic research in the field of nanoscale science and magnetism. Engineering and fabrication of exchange bias magnetic thin film multilayer systems by magnetron sputtering and characterized by VSM, high resolution magnetic force microscopy. **Preparation of High Resolution MFM tips with high throughput sputter process to achieve magnetic spatial resolution under 10nm by specific protocol and coating techniques.**Engineered an amorphous ferrimagnet/ferromagnet bilayer system that point out a way to achieve reliable and larger magnetic storage densities (applicable in HDD, Heat-assisted Magnetic Recording, HAMR, read/write heads) above 100 Tbit/in2

Domain size engineering and fabricating EB system in order to image directly for the first time, the pinned Uncompensated Spins (UCS) at the interface by MFM and study their role in the Exchange Bias (EB) system.Grain boundary engineering of AF materials to enhance EB-effect.

Preparation of thin films and multilayers system with different composition by MBE and magnetron sputtering.Investigate the mutual influence of magnetization and superconductivity, in S/F and F/S/F heterostructures

*Up gradation and maintenance of Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) system. Preparation of thin films and multilayers by MBE and in situ XPS measurements.*Studies on suitability of Al/Ag bilayers structures for Ultra-large or Giga scale integration (ULSI or GSI) technologies, have been grown by MBE and characterized by XPS, AFM, XRD and four-probe temperature dependence of electrical resistivity measurements.*Properties of Tellurium oxide (TeO2), WO3 thin films for gas sensing (NH3, H2S) were investigated. Hydrogen adsorption studies of nano-crystalline Palladium (Pd) thin films for their application in hydrogen storage.
