I am a dedicated researcher and instructor with over 15 years of experience in cellular and molecular biology, specializing in the intersection of aging, cancer, gene expression, epigenetics, and 3D genome organization. My journey in scientific research has taken me from unraveling the complexities of gene regulation during intestinal epithelial cell differentiation to investigating the epigenetic mechanisms driving age-related inflammation and cancer progression.At the La Jolla Institute for Immunology, I focused on uncovering the molecular underpinnings of aging and cancer, advising on projects that delve deep into gene expression and cellular signaling pathways. My post-doctoral work at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, under the mentorship of Prof. Peter D. Adams, further honed my expertise in epigenetic regulation, particularly concerning age-associated proinflammatory factors.Earlier in my career, I contributed to the Indian Council of Medical Research as a Ph.D. researcher, where I explored the regulation of gene expression in intestinal epithelial cells. My academic background is rooted in biochemistry, with advanced degrees from the University of Calcutta, complemented by hands-on experience in enzyme extraction and analytical biochemistry during my tenure in the pharmaceutical industry.I am passionate about advancing our understanding of cellular and molecular biology of aging and cancer; and applying this knowledge to develop innovative therapeutic strategies. My goal is to continue contributing to cutting-edge research and mentoring the next generation of scientists.
