As a Senior Bridge engineer, I'm responsible for delivering Level 2 Bridge assessments for Network Rail, carrying out Bridge inspections (Highway and Rail) and other Bridge strengthening/repair projects.

Responsible for detailed assessment of Road & Rail Bridges for UK transportation sector. Work involves extensive use of Finite Element Analysis software - LUSAS; the load carrying capacity of an existing bridge is determined as per BD21/01 and NR/GN/CIV/025 assessment codes for Road and Railway bridges respectively; Non-linear analysis is performed for all Level 2 assessments.

Worked in a multi-disciplinary environment as Structural engineer. Major projects have been on design of metro viaducts, bridge substructures, footbridges, rail and road bridge assessments, railway platform extensions, railway signalling renewals (civil works), level crossings.Key experience:Design of metro viaduct substructures.Structural assessment of steel bridges, brick arch bridges.Bridge design optioning works, involving feasibility studies and risk assessments.Design of steel footbridges.Planning of business development initiatives and strategies.Key Projects:Riyadh Metro Package 3- Responsible for design and delivery of substructure package in lines 4 and 6, in total for a stretch of ~30km. Substructure design comprised of pier, pier head, pilecap, monopile, pilegroup and pad footing. In addition to design delivery, work also involved addressing field change requests and other site queries.Great Western Electrification Programme- Responsible for carrying out bridge optioneering work for numerous footbridges, rail and road Overbridges which were fouling overhead electrical line clearances. Work involved preparation of optioneering documents and drawings through detail study of the bridge site, foreseeing and addressing health and safety issues, constant liaison with P-Way, Signalling and electrification engineersRiver Neath Bridge assessment-Carried out non-linear analysis of the main span (90m) through finite element modelling using LUSAS. Geometric non-linearity was considered in the analysis.
