As the president of the business I oversaw all the day to day activities. The day usually began with making sure our POS system was up and running and checking the previous day's sales. I reviewed inventory lists and contacted sales reps to replenish our stock. As I only had a couple employees, I spent the day working the register and reviewing the bills and licensing of the business to make sure we were up to date and issuing payroll biweekly. I took care of the taxes month to month, which consisted of working with the various departments, including business taxes, employment taxes, etc. I also took daily inventory to keep our records up to date. This position taught me how to carefully and efficiently deal with people of all types, how to manage and prioritize my time & tasks, and how to adapt to the various challenges that will be thrown at you.
