I worked as an Economist in the Integrated Tax Design area working with the ATO Policy Integration (API) team. The API team contributes to the formulation of policy and advocate for a solutions-based approach to improve the tax and superannuation systems and their administration. We collaborate with Treasury and other agencies to provide government with quality and timely advice on policy proposals.My work is focussed on developing and coordinating business improvement activities in support of the ATO’s new policy capability platform.

I worked in the Macroeconomic Group of the Treasury in the China Policy Unit monitoring and advising the Australian Government on the developments within the Chinese economy and its impact on the Australian economy including implications for the resources sector.

I was seconded to China Economic and Trade Section of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from Treasury, to provide economic analysis of the Chinese economy including analysis of the Chinese Government’s macroeconomic and fiscal policy, trends in the Chinese capital market, and the impact these trends have on the global economy including for Australia. In this role I have used my advanced interpersonal skills to cultivate a strong network of contacts across the Government, business and community sectors.

I worked as an Economist at the Department of the Treasury where I worked on taxation policy development in the Revenue Group of the Department in that role. My major contribution was building bottom-up equity valuation models to analyse the impact of a resource rent tax on mining, oil and gas firms. I also worked in the Macroeconomic Group, where I researched financial and capital market integration in the Asia-Pacific region. I also provided long-term analysis of the emerging Asian economies with a particular focus on China.
