About Nicole Young

With a “Yes, I Can” attitude, I can accomplish anything. I have been training for my Black Belt in Taekwondo since January 2017 and achieved 1st Dan in 2021 (2nd Dan in 2023), in spite of the global pandemic that impacted every aspect of our lives. When challenges arise, you get creative. A Black Belt is just a White Belt who didn’t quit.Training to be among those of the Black Belt is like learning any new skill or honing any competency – minus the sparring gear. It starts with a growth mindset and a firm belief that, with practice, you can create goals, hold yourself accountable, and sustain new habits. There isn’t room in our busy minds for the words, “I can’t,” and I challenge myself – and others – to say “not yet,” instead. I have served as a leader and advocate for learning and development, helping people to stretch their skills and grow beyond what they thought possible. Through this advocacy, I myself have grown from a learning and development specialist, to an instructional designer and team mentor, to a leader in employee and leadership development and internal communications.I’m on a journey, and I’m loving the ride.
