Westchester was the only local government chosen for the President’s Access America Program and Westchester’s IT was also the subject of invited presentations at the first Chinese-US Government Symposium on Digital Government and at Oxford University Internet Institute.• Led County’s economic development efforts in global trade and in the growth of the local technology industry, including creative use of a variety of technologies such as multi-lingual economic promotion website, electronic magazine about Westchester in Chinese, on-line business matching service and international videoconferencing for county and global trade partners to start business relations.• Applied innovative technologies in a practical way including: use of speech recognition over telephones that enabled public to find cheapest gasoline prices; embedded expert systems within everyday operations that improved decision making and ensured basic standards were applied; provided statistical analysis/big data services
