Shifts in education paradigms are crucial in preparing the upcoming generation for the 21-century challenges and opportunities. I believe that we can design the future of education by redefining education paradigms and grant education access for all. For me, nurturing youth competencies and literacy skills is a mission formed by years of experience in youth development initiatives and my career as a lecturer at IAU in Dammam, KSA. I continue to work on this mission as a doctoral student and a fellow in the Global Human Rights Hub, 2022-2023 at ASU where my research interests revolve around the issues of education access and social justice, especially the case of the Syrian refugees. I enjoy exploring creative and technological means like appropriate technology, drama, and digital storytelling. I also work with the SoalrSPELL initiative at ASU, a global education initiative using solar powered offline technology. I assist in many aspects of the curating a Middle East library especially in creating Arabic training program from a UX and culturally responsive perspective.I find true pleasure in reading children’s books alone and with others. My favorite book is called Can a Princess Wear Hiking Shoes? I love to read and write poetry in Arabic and in English.
