This company is now 50 years old and still reinventing itself. Here, I am involved at the job's inception through it's completion! As the Apparel Sales Person, I work with the customers to decide on the image to be printed(either supplied or designed), the price of the job, and when it will be ready. This is done in person, over the phone or by email. I also help solve any problems that arise, discuss pricing options with the owner, accept payment and notify people when the job is finished. Here, I have made many lasting business friendships that give me a feeling of satisfaction and result in steady business for the company!As Screen Print Manager, I work with the printer to discuss ink colors, artwork, supplies and the print schedule. Occasionally there are problems that need to be addressed. We work through them and our small but busy, department runs very smoothly. As a form of quality control, I inspect the first print of each job before production begins.As the Direct to Garment printer, I fill orders for printing on light and dark garments. I work with the pre-treat machine, make sure the heat press is correctly set, and adjust the DTG machine as needed. I monitor supplies and complete these orders in between my other responsibilities.

This company is 25 years old and has made a name for itself in the golf industry, as well as the sports and collegiate scene. We are able to produce hot stamping, embroidery, screen printing, DTG, pad printing and auto screening and all in one location. My position centers around artwork and production. I manipulate incoming files to suit the different production uses. Then I assist the manufacturing department in accomplishing the orders. The job also includes finishing, packaging and shipping product. This is a very busy facility where we all work together to get it done!

Another established Sports retail and production company that I had done work for sporadically for from 2007 to 2010. This is a small volume print department that I helped set-up when was there. I chose the equipment and became proficient at it's use. We do mainly one and two color jobs in small quantities. I employ the same quality control and attention to detail, I always have.The art here department is alive as well! This is an established business that specializes in sports printing and embroidery as well as all sports merchandise. It was a challenge to learn because I was using inks and garment materials I was not familiar with.The volume of work was larger than I was used to because of the steady supply of new jobs needing to be produced.My place in this company was different too. Manual screen printing, screen prep, and department upkeep were my main duties. This company was very different from the previous one. It had only been in existence for one year when I came aboard as the screen print manager and part of the art department. Some of the faces were the same though and the clients as well. I was now in a coaching role helping another printer and advising the prep assistants. The printing aspect of this position was familiar, but not the art; it was much more involved. I worked along side a talented, knowledgable, person who helped me improve my computer graphic skills and took my art to another level! I was doing more creatively than ever before, and with the right tools. He left the company about a year later, leaving the Art department to me. This was a change I was unprepared for but a challenge that I embraced! "I" was now the art department as well as the print manager. Because of his tutelage, we still produced designs to be proud of! The print production ran smooth as well. As my art duties began to take up more time, our printer took charge of the situation and was able to work more independently. This is where it all started. An established garment decoration and marketing company in Hobart, Indiana. For 6 mos I played the apprentice role. I was learning manual screen printing, prep work, clean-up and basic art. Then I became the main printer, constantly challenging myself to be technically sound and mistake-free. My skills grew and so did my responsibility. I kept up with the steady work load and became quite fast; at one point manually printing a six color design on a regular basis. I achieved the title of production manager and monitored department supplies and had schedule input.Finally, after a few years of mainly working in production, I became the staff artist as well! This was a goal I had set from the start here. To create this art,I utilized my drawing training as well as a new medium(for me), the computer.
