The New Mexico Governor’s STEM Challenge is the largest event of its type in New Mexico. It is an annual competition where high school students from across the state showcase their skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to build practical solutions for real-world problems. Supported by partnerships with New Mexico State University, University of New Mexico, New Mexico Department of Public Education, New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, LANL Foundation, and local and national business and industry leaders, the Challenge is a platform for young minds to shape a brighter future for New Mexico using the transformative power of STEM education.Along with Tyler Technologies, I sponsored the event last year and was overwhelmed by student achievements. With humility, I accepted the role of chair earlier this year. As chair of the committee I guide the efforts of our public sector, private sector and not-for-profit members as we recruit schools and students to participate in the upcoming STEM showcase. Affinnova is a research and technology company that conducts early stage consumer research for CPG companies. This research uses a patented evolutionary algorithm to optimize the product mix for entirely new "white space" products, product relaunches and line extensions.While at Affinnova I helped launch one of our most successful partnerships. Working for a lean entrepreneurial company required that I participate in virtually every client facing position. Highlights include assisting in the creation of our Software as a Service (SaaS) solution and direct sales and consulting on research for Unilever globally.I currently work with our sales team to present and drive adoption of our SaaS software world-wide to all of our CPG clients. In my time with Affinnova, I have had the opportunity to present and influence over 1,000 individuals at the world’s largest CPG companies in sixteen countries.
