I have spent a long time figuring out who I am, who I was, and who I want to be going forward. I've studied health and social care, catering, youth work, social sciences, and social work. I've worked in coffee shops, kitchens, retail, fundraising, and sales. I have also spent years volunteering, predominantly in youth related roles. Consistently through every part of my journey, youth related roles have kept my interest and ignited a passion. Often the victims of labelling theory in society, young people are seen as deviant, lazy, and out to cause trouble. The reality is however, that society is quick to see the worst in each other. Young people, much like everyone else, can only do the best they can with the knowledge they have in that moment. I Am passionate about working with young people to provide them with skills, support, and the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about matters that impact their lives. I am also queer, disabled, neurodivergent, and non-white. I therefore appear to be a walking equality monitoring form to a degree; with experience in all of these areas and the way they can impact a person's life and opportunities. I am determined to fight for a world where all our differences are celebrated. We are different, and we cannot all be treated exactly the same way, but we can celebrate each other, learn about each other, and treat every individual in a way that allows them to thrive.
