Throughout my four years in high school i worked immensely hard to achieve my goals and to set myself up for success in the future. In doing so i assured my good grades through extra curricular activities such as sports and clubs, some of which include, holding the president position for the schools DECA program, commissioner in the Link Crew program, and spending a week in Olympia as a page for the Washington Senate; the list goes on in on. The point is i have accumulated experiences and skills throughout my early life that are going help me greatly in future with the pursuit for a job or any other goal i may set my mind to. The leadership and confidence that i gained from DECA are by far the most important skills that i obtained and what i use the most today. This is because this particular program requires you to sit and discuss the logistics of various business matters with a complete stranger after only 10 minutes of prep time. You can see how key work related skills show themselves through DECA, like the ability to be quick on ones feet and take problems head on. I would not be who i am today without the four years of discomfort and stress DECA has put me through. i w furthermore the ability to problem solve, delegate, and efficiently manage operations of a business are all valuable skills i have acquired from work and schooling experience (and yes DECA has a big part in this too) , and All of which can be reapplied in a new place of work. Finally i pride myself on my ability to be coachable and the ability to pick up on new skills quickly and efficiently. I believe the skills that i bring to the table truly could benefit any business or organization that is in need.
