Noah Wager work experience

User Experience Intern
I worked with UX and Engineering to implement a new design system. I first decided on the best tools to use in the pipeline and then implemented the baseline functionality, culminating in a working prototype that demonstrated great efficiency in propagating UI changes to multiple products. The design system integrated Angular, Style Dictionary, and InVision to streamline the propagation of changes from the design team to engineering. Over the summer, I met with interdisciplinary mentors to make sure all members were on the same page before implementing features. I also documented and presented my work for future expansion after my internship ended.
Software Engineer Intern, 3D Experiences
I worked on two different teams. The first was the Experiences team, which handles the 3D model viewer web app. I designed and implemented a new feature in React + TypeScript that allows users to search through model metadata. This helps the user find information about the space more quickly and efficiently. I also created a UI panel that displays general model information, which was shipped to production.I also worked with the other interns to research potential use cases in the university vertical. After we decided on an angle to pursue, I worked with the design and engineering interns to create software prototypes demonstrating how Matterport can integrate into academia, culminating in a company-wide presentation and demo.
Quality Assurance Intern
Torch3D was a startup whose app allowed users to place 3D models in AR view using their mobile devices.I tested the app for UI issues and any other bugs, both manually and automatically. For manual tests, I came up with various test cases that might cause issues and filed a ticket for each bug. Thinking of test cases required creativity to address edge cases and unconventional use cases. For automated tests, I used Objective-C and EarlGrey to create UI unit tests. I worked with other developers to target areas that needed the most coverage and then programmed sequential UI actions using HTML snapshots as verification.
