I am a Lockmaster for the LNVA Saltwater Barrier with a strong background in facility management, emergency management, and the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure,I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of the SWB facility, including its structure, grounds, personnel, and equipment. Adhering to strict USACE guidelines, I conduct regular inspections to assess maintenance needs and develop comprehensive plans for both short and long-term maintenance goals.In addition to my operational duties, I play a crucial role in determining streamflow requirements in the Neches River near Beaumont. This involves daily communication with the USACE Reservoir Control Center in Fort Worth to ensure the minimum releases from B.A. Steinhagen Reservoir meet local diversion needs. I closely monitor inflows to the Neches River system, calculate estimated river flow at the Saltwater barrier three days in advance, and effectively communicate with authority customers.
