Chair and manage legal department for Hybrid Apparel

Broad competencies include: (1) negotiate, structure and draft a wide-array of contracts, including manufacturing, distribution, licensing, technology agreements, SaaS agreements, retail agreements, consumer product goods agreements, carrier agreements and a wide array of other agreements; (2) manage outside counsel in connection with high-stakes litigation in variety of subject areas, including trademark disputes, partnership lawsuits, breach of contract, patent litigation, employment suits, wrongful termination claims, environmental claims, Proposition 65 actions, consumer class actions, product liability and other subject matters; (3) personally handle and first chair litigation and other legal proceedings, including arbitrations, court cases and administrative actions before the FEHA, DLSE, FDA, Workers Compensation Board, the BOE, state tax authorities, FAA and other government administrative bodies; (4) manage intellectual property (trademark) portfolio; (5) insurance recovery; (6) FDA regulatory work, including advising in connection with pre-market review, substantial equivalency, ingredient filings, labeling requirements and other FDA obligations; (6) state and federal regulatory compliance; (7) work closely with entire management team to avoid legal risk and ensure compliance, including with accounting, operations, tax, purchasing, sales and marketing and human resources; (8) conduct in-house legal trainings; (9) mergers and acquisitions; and (10) a variety of other areas as a result of managing all legal issues for company.

Management of federal and California class actions; First chair administrative hearings; Argue various motions in state and federal court; Take and defend depositions; Draft summary judgment motions, oppositions to class certification, other miscellaneous motions, complaints and answers; Draft and respond to discovery; Direct contact and interaction with fortune 500 clients; Attend and participate in court proceedings.

Management of various complex commercial litigation matters, including wage and hour and consumer class actions, finance matters, Proposition 65, false advertisement, insider trading, SEC matters, trademark litigation; Defeat class-action lawsuit against major healthcare provider alleging improper reimbursement; First chair and obtain complete defense verdict of breach of contract arbitration; Manage declaration campaign in defense of eight-figure class action; Obtain summary adjudications and defeat certification in numerous matters.
