My career to date has been relatively varied in terms of focus, content and location. I have designed and implemented businesses operating models from scratch, implemented systems, processes and controls, and then managed them in a business as usual environment - giving me wide exposure to business growth cycles. Throughout this time, I have performed roles as an internal change sponsor, line manager, project manager, and external consultant. My work has had me living in the UK, South Africa, Namibia, and now back to New Zealand for good. These travels have embedded an appreciation of diversity and sharpened my ability to work with many types of people.My skills portfolio breaks down into three areas of expertise: business and process improvement – executing strategy through the design and build of operational improvement solutions; operations management – including the design, implementation and management of process, reporting and technology solutions; and project and programme management of both business and IT-led initiatives. I have deep experience in financial services, and exposure to a number of other industry sectors through my time in management consulting. Having successfully worked in large scale organisations, as well as smaller start-up businesses – both with very diverse groups of cultures – I can adapt my influencing styles appropriately, and lead teams under changing conditions.
