I am a passionate technology enthusiast with a diverse background in education, chemistry, and software development. With over 14 years of experience as a teacher under the Ministry of Education, I have refined my skills in instructional design and fostering a conducive learning environment.Currently, I serve as a Chemist at the Ministry of Mining, where I apply my expertise in analyzing rocks, minerals, and water samples to support efficient and sustainable mineral processing. My role involves conducting rock and mineral analyses, examining concentrates and tailings, and assessing the quality and content of various chemical compounds. Additionally, I supervise laboratory assistants, oversee chemical procurement, and train staff in advanced rock and mineral analysis techniques.In 2024, I was honored to be selected for two significant opportunities:• Consultant for the International Research Exchange Board's (IREX) Education Program in Malawi, where I help in contributing to educational development through research.• Top 70 Applicant out of nearly 2,000 in the MUUNI Innovation Fund Challenge, administered by the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA). My project focuses on developing a technological innovation to improve Early Childhood Development (ECD) education in M'mbelwa District Council.Beyond education and chemistry, I am an Android app developer. I have developed several educational mobile applications used by students and teachers throughout Malawi. These apps are available at cumi.blog.home. I share them for free. Furthermore, I created a report card management system that enables schools to generate student report cards within hours. Schools benefiting from this system include Rumphi Secondary School, Zolozolo Community Day Secondary School, and Nkhotakota Secondary School, among others.In recognition of my dedication to education, I was awarded the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) award in 2022.
