This role shift was largely to focus on continuing our retail expansion, and to optimise all aspects of the design and execution of our store builds. I am still responsible for finding and unlocking opportunity in the larger systems and projects within the businesses.I was fortunate to talk on our behalf at the 2020 EuroShop Store Design Stage in Dusseldorf, Germany, and detailed our journey to so-called "brick & mortar omnichannel retail".

Alongside my existing Supply Chain role, I was directly responsible for the development and implementation of our omni-channel retail stores, providing expertise on the design, concept evolution, physical interpretation and deep day-to-day management of the actual store builds for all of our 7 retail outlets. As part of these projects, I developed and implemented 3D modelling workflows and worked towards virtual reality in our design process - rapidly establishing a world class look and build. Our retail stores are to be found in Cape Town: Westlake, Willowbridge Centre, Gardens Centre, V&A Waterfront and recently Somerset Mall, and Gauteng: Sandton City and Mall of Africa.The V&A Waterfront store was awarded the 2018 RDDA prize for "Best Design - Independent Retailer" - a great accolade indeed.

As part of the leadership team, I've been responsible for the management and ongoing improvement of our warehouse facilities, structures, processes and expansion. As a comparatively small warehouse team, we're tightly focused on optimisations and performance and experience significant peaks during a year, requiring vast planning and controls. In addition to the warehouse responsibilities, I've directly managed our courier relationships with Aramex and RAM, and have worked towards improving the ecommerce experience for customers, retailers and our couriers alike.In this role, I was also responsible for dozens of infrastructure build projects, including significant renovation and building work, warehousing design and implementation projects for both Yuppiechef and Edison Stone, and many efficiency and process systems - including our amazing Skyrail system.

Within this sister-business to Yuppiechef, I led infrastructural projects including leases, renovations and warehouse designs, and from time-to-time was involved on the software and process side of the business. The largest (and most amazing) warehouse build was completed in Q1 2019.

Greystone Technologies supplied technical and information products to the Banking Industry. I provided electronics design and manufacturing expertise and spent a year overseeing the build of a new, intelligent drop-safe, tasked with moving it from R&D to a production-ready product.

In addition to my role at White Wall Web, I ran the occasional Group project which didn't fall under day-to-day business. These included internal process re-engineering, new products and cross-company collaboration.

I was responsible for new business development, strategic roadmaps and contract delivery (operations). Additionally, I was involved with optimising delivery, development and management processes. I was privileged to head up a motivated and inspired team.
