Provides reference assistance, instruction, outreach, and collections management to support programs dependent upon the chemical sciences in Marston Science Library. Serves as a subject specialist liaison to the departments of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Science.

Worked as part of an interdisciplinary team of chemists from various divisions and engineers to study the chemical vapor deposition of thin film materials. Synthesized organometallic precursors for deposition of tungsten carbonitride. Studied precursor decomposition mechanisms during CVD using in situ Raman spectroscopy. Employed inert atmosphere synthesis methods, including Schlenk line and glove box techniques. Served as lead group safety officer, waste manager, and webmaster. Designed graphics for journal cover articles. Trained and mentored an undergraduate research assistant. Instructed classes of approximately twenty undergraduate students in the organic chemistry laboratory on basic lab techniques, lab safety, and spectral analysis. Held weekly office hours to tutor students of both organic laboratory and organic lecture classes. Proctored and graded exams. Received a chemistry department teaching award. Served as “Head TA” for the Spring 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters, which included vetting new teaching experiments for the course, training first-time teaching assistants, organizing exam proctoring/grading, and aiding the setup of new teaching lab spaces

President of a developing, ambitious student organization which fosters a support network for women of all identities, predominately graduate students in the sciences. Lead monthly general body meetings involving professional development activities and invited speakers. Hosted a monthly discussion group on various topics in the realm of gender equality in the sciences. Developed a week-long spring camp with other officers for local middle school girls, which included daily scientific experiments, laboratory tours, and activities to encourage interest in science. Oversaw and managed a team of seven officers. Increased regular general body attendance threefold.

Oversaw all operations for Women's History Month 2015, including the planning and execution of twenty events. Worked on the Women's Student Association executive board to provide women students with peer support, role models, and education in order to help them to foster a sense of empowerment. Specific responsibilities included the following:- Supervised and mentored a committee of six undergraduate assistant programmers.- Chose the theme "Ain't I A Woman?" to focus events on the intersectional identities of all women. - Negotiated and invited a high profile speaker from the keynote event.- Managed a $12,000 budget. - Oversaw all logistics of inviting speakers, reserving venues, arranging catering, and ordering promotional items.- Collaborated with twenty three other student organizations and university departments on campus and personally directed all co-sponsored events.- Designed promotional logos and graphics using Photoshop.

Developed a phase diagram for lead zirconate titanate (PZT) with samarium doping through oxide ceramic processing and powder X-ray crystallography. Explored the electric field-amplitude and frequency dependence of PZT polarization with varying composition. Performed in-situ X-ray diffraction experiments at the Advance Photon Source (APS) in Argonne National Laboratory. Determined the crystal structure of samarium-doped lead titanate using neutron diffraction at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Completed a senior thesis paper and was awarded highest honors. Trained and supervised an undergraduate peer.

Synthesized organometallic molecular magnets by oxygen-sensitive solution chemistry in a glovebox. Grew molecular superconducting crystals by an electrocrystallization synthetic route. Characterized materials using single-crystal X-ray crystallography and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometery.

Implemented a research plan to study the change in properties with temperature of a piezoelectric material with varying compositional modifications. Received funding from the National Science Foundation’s International Research Experiences for Students (IRES) award to work with a collaborating German lab group for eight weeks.
