The most exciting project I worked on at this position was working with an overseas supplier to arrange the delivery of bulk product to the United States. This involved researching and analyzing the most efficient and logistically advantaged locations in the US based on our competitor's locations and our customer locations (including potential customers), figuring out how to get the product from bulk vessel to barge in New Orleans and negotiating terms with the Stevedores, and negotiating barge freight rates from New Orleans to Illinois where the facility that I negotiated and wrote a storage and shipping contract with was located. While I was only at DASCO, INC for a short time, the experience was invaluable. My main responsibilities with DASCO, INC were:• Responsible for negotiating, writing, and maintaining contracts with new and existing terminals, co-packers, warehouses, trucking companies, barge lines, and other service providers.• Accountable for inventory analysis, purchasing, and inventory levels of finished and bulk product and packaging materials.• Liaison to Sales and Marketing teams to ensure customer contractual obligations were met including adherence to time, pricing, storage, transportation and minimal shrink expenses.• Project creation and analysis and management of multiple products, locations, and timelines.Work with operating facilities to ensure or gain compliance in Safe Feed, Safe Food program.
