When the world stopped turning in 2020 I had to make a major career shift. I was working at a world-renowned beer establishment as a concierge and a draft system technician. Now we are in 2023 and I have been working as a cybersecurity professional for a year and a half. I was able to take my personal knowledge and add some courses that were punctuated with some certifications and turn that into a professional career. In my current position I work on all facets of the IT stack on over a dozen unique domains. I work primarily as a network engineer, but I also have equal experience with system administration, server administration, virtualization. I have also spent a decent amount of time on layer 1 issues and end user support.In my free time I like to use my personal time to decompress by doing projects around the house and spend time with my kids. I also use any spare time to advance my career by working on different certifications. I am currently working towards achieving a CCNP certification as well as the VCP by VMware. I am also working on other personal skills by learning OSINT and Scripting. I try to always be learning something.I am constantly on the hunt to take the next step in my career. I do capture the flag contests through platforms such as HackTheBox, Tryhackme and PicoCTF. I find myself leaning towards blue team operations. I am always looking for opportunities to be part of a productive team that affords me the opportunity to learn and grow as well as share my own knowledge with others.
