Chuck Anderson is a Chicago-based creative director, designer, and artist who founded NoPattern Studio in 2004 at the age of 18. Renowned for his vivid use of color, surreal layering, and experimental image-making, he has collaborated with leading brands such as Nike, Apple, ESPN, Target, Microsoft, and Vans. In 2005, Chuck co-founded the influential early internet blog THE BRILLIANCE! alongside Benjamin Edgar and Virgil Abloh, impacting conversations around youth culture, streetwear, art, design, and fashion. In 2009, after designing the Windows 7 desktop in partnership with Landor & Microsoft, he was named a Design Icon by Computer Arts Magazine. He has also held leadership roles as Design Director at Havas Chicago (2015-2018) and Group Creative Director at MKTG (2018-2020). From 2016 to 2018, he also served as a creative consultant for the Chicago Bulls, enhancing their social media strategy and helping them earn industry recognition as "Best Team Social Media" by Sports Business Journal in 2017.Returning to his own practice again in 2020, Chuck picked up right where he left off, garnering new brand partnerships & collaborations with Jordan Brand, New York Times, Johnnie Walker, Cheetos, and Topps among others. His most recent explorations within his fine art practice have led to 3 self-published art books (Crash Report [2019], Infinite Pressure [2021], and Imagined Wreckage [2024), highlighting his studies in 3D, vector, and AI, respectively.Passionate about mentoring and education, Chuck has also spoken at design conferences and schools around the world, championing creativity and helping young creatives feel inspired to pursue their visions.
