I work as a consultant with a software company that develops software for Electronic Health Records (EHR) used in public health and home health agencies. As a consultant with Champ Software, I have developed training curriculum, written expert articles, held webinars with public health and home health agencies across the United States on specific topics related to use of EHRs. I also work intimately with each public health agency over 3-4 months while assisting their staff in implementing their new EHR and use of the nursing taxonomy, the Omaha System. During this process we discuss use of change management theory and other practices that will assist them in having a successful transition to their new documentation product. During the implementation process, I utilize a brain-based learning approach to maximize impact. In addition to training and developing curriculum, I work as a Project Manager over the integration of state immunization registry access and facilitate the connection for clinical data to be shared with state health information exchanges from our software. This requires managing various state and in house technical experts as we proceed through the process of establishing connection and launch of the integration.

Our association acts on behalf of our foster parents in our region to liaison with our Children's Aid Society (CAS), provide opportunities to increase our foster parents skills and knowledge and provide networks for foster parents to reach out for support and mentoring when needed. As president, I provide leadership for our foster parents to aide in the direction of our advocacy of our association. I meet regularly with senior management to receive and distribute information from the agency, as well as, provide feedback to senior management as to the concerns of our association. I regularly attend the CAS Board of Director's meeting in order to keep abreast of the agency's overall direction and issues. Responsible for the intake and case management of worker’s with disabilities in their vocational rehabilitation. Performed labor market research for the various regions in Northern Ontario and maintained and developed relationships with various employers, colleges and other educational institutions. Each case assigned required in depth research and reports detailing rationale for occupational choices and cost analysis for the interventions required. Responsible for the orientation and and training of new case managers.

While employed by Riverside County Department of Public Health, I worked in a variety of roles and programs. I started off in the agency working as a Clinic Health Nurse as the Team Lead for the Immunization Program within Disease Control. As the Team Lead, I coordinated mass immunization clinics as well as networked with various community organizations. While still working in Disease Control, I began working as a Public Health Nurse working TB Control as the lead in contact investigations, refugee screening, monitoring of laboratory results, Hansen's Disease follow up and TB oriented educational training for the community including teachers, medical staff and others. I then transitioned into the role of TB Case Manager. While there, I managed active TB cases including multi-drug resistant TB. After several years, I moved my practice to a more generalist role within Public Health Nursing managing the care of high risk moms and babies primarily in targeted regions with the county. I participated in case reviews at our county NICU, provided clinical review of cases identified by FIMR (Fetal Infant Mortality Review), participated in SARB (School Attendance Review Board) in a local community as well as various other roles. I was then promoted to Senior Public Health Nurse responsible for the management of our Targeted Case Management Program, training of new Public Health Nurses in our program,participated in the orientation of all new Public Health Nurses to our agency as well as acted as a liaison on behalf of Public Health Nursing. I also co-lead the implementation of an Electronic Health Record, Champ Software, and standardized language, the Omaha System, into our Public Health Nursing Program. I ended my career at Riverside County supervising a team of staff in a regional office within Public Health Nursing.
