As a former District Environment Officer in Haa, Bhutan, I had the privilege of serving as a key decision-maker and advisor on environmental matters. In this role, I successfully conducted environmental examinations for many developmental projects including mini-hydropower projects and limestone mining sites , ensuring compliance with regulations and minimising potential impacts on ecosystems. Additionally, I collaborated with local communities to raise awareness about sustainable practices and conservation efforts, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among residents. Through my work at the National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology during internships, I gained valuable experience in conducting research analysis related to rainfall variability and contributed to publications on endangered plant species. Proficient in SPSS, GIS, R-Software, and Microsoft Office packages, I effectively utilised these tools to monitor environmental parameters and assess their impact on the surrounding ecosystem. Overall, my experience as a District Environment Officer has equipped me with comprehensive knowledge in environmental management while emphasising the importance of community engagement for positive change.
